H&S LEGISLATION
CHANGES FOR EVENTS
There are some major Health & Safety Legislation
changes going through Parliament at present concerning Fire Safety
at Outdoor events. If you are an organiser of outdoor events, speak
with our Events Fire Safety department, and ensure that your event
is fully compliant with these changes in law, expected to come into
force in April this year, and that you have a copy of your fire
safety company’s public liability insurance documents.

LAUNCH IN SCOTLAND |

NEW CAT3 VEHICLE LAUNCH
IN SCOTLAND
FireTech will be officially launching their CAT3 vehicle range
in Scotland in the early summer, at Inverness Airport. The new
Challenger 6x6, will be fully CAT 3 CAP168 compliant, with additional
roof monitor and BA stowage, as well as many other options.

FireTech launch their range of CAT 3
fire vehicles at Goodwood Estate in October 2005. The
event was attended by many of the low cat airfields in the UK.
The demonstration Challenger vehicle was bought by Goodwood Aerodrome
in November 2005

Nine years after the company was founded they remain
one of the leading suppliers of used fire engines and vehicles to
both the UK and Overseas markets, having recently signed a three
year contract to supply refurbished fire engines to New Zealand
and Australasia. |

FireTech
are the only UK based company, providing an all encompassing
range of services to the fire service within the aviation industry,
including aviation fire vehicles, large and small, demountable units
for small airfields, and CAA firefighters both Low and High Category.

Contracts won |

2005 was another
record breaking year, with
FireTech winning some major aviation support contracts.
FireTech won the contract for the supply of all
additional fire vehicles, including four large major foam fire vehicles,
and a RIV, along with over 150 high category CAA aviation firefighters
for the Farnborough International Airshow.
FireTech also provided High Category CAA firefighters
to Cranfield Airport in Bedfordshire for over 200 days in an 18
month period during 2004/05.
FireTech full event fire cover package is still
proving popular. Goodwood have increased the level of fire cover
for both of their large events, the Festival of Speed and Revival.
FireTech are also providing all the fire safety at Badminton Horse
Trials this year, with fire points, extinguishers, fire vehicles
and crew covering the airstrip, campsite and the trade arena.

expanded their small fire vehicle range in 2005, with
the addition Dodge Ram 4x4 and Landrover 6x6 vehicles for use in
aviaiton, domestic and industrial firefighting.

have also agreed a joint venture with Kawasaki, developing
a Rapid Response Quad launched in 2005, designed for rural brigades,
but can also be adapted to be used by rescue units and coast guards.
